Attendance was over 60 at this one day hearing loss conference organized by the SE PA Chapters of HLAA at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Wayne, PA. The event featured Barbara Kelley, Executive Director of HLAA, and Tina Childress, a nationally known hearing loss advocate.
Ms. Kelley, who has been involved with HLAA since 1988, spoke about past achievements by HLAA in bringing positive changes to people who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, while also addressing ongoing initiatives. She and the HLAA National staff work tirelessly to advocate for all people with hearing loss.
Dr. Childress draws from her unique experience as a late deafened adult with bilateral cochlear implants combined with her day job as a pediatric audiologist and trainer in various school settings. Her dedication lies in promoting accessibility for individuals who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing across different environments through education, collaboration and advocacy.
